==Background==

Nikki Baker and John Dahl met in high school in Northfield, Minnesota. He got her attention by shaking a beer, giving it to her to open, causing a geyser of foam to cover her face.
She returned his display of affection with a kick to the crotch, thus beginning their "prank war". Their first video was posted by Nikki; since then the couple’s antics — all involving revenge pranks — have received 130 million views on YouTube, and have been featured on a wide variety of other websites (including break.com) accruing an extra 110 million views. Nikki and John's appearance on MTV’s Pranked further increased their popularity; the show dedicating a special segment to them.〔 Their revenge pranks feature, among other things, a doughnut spiked with hot chillies, shampoo swapped with hair bleach (and, later, purple dye), itching powder strewn across bedsheets, and closet doors being booby-trapped with a bucket of green slime (John proposed marriage to Nikki after this prank, and she accepted). The duo primarily focus their energies on YouTube and generate their income from advertising revenue and selling their videos to TV shows.
They continue to upload prank videos, on average once a month. They also run their own vlog channel on YouTube, called NikkiAndJohnVLOG. In April 2014, Nikki and John announced that they were expecting a baby; they stopped pranking for a while but continued to add videos daily to their vlog channel. Nikki shared her pregnancy experiences on the channel, giving regular "bumpdates" as her stomach grew. On October 16, 2014, Nikki gave birth to a daughter, Iris Anne Dahl - the first name was chosen by Nikki, the second by John. They moved from Corona, California to Los Angeles, California in early 2014, subsequently moving again to La Cañada Flintridge, California. At the start of 2015, the duo resumed their pranking. Iris has already been featured in their prank wars; the first prank after Nikki's pregnancy was pulled by John, in which he took a selfie with Iris and sent it to his friend who photoshopped Iris's hair out of the picture, and the image was sent to Nikki.
